Arson Squad investigating Welshpool building fire, seeking public help

ARSON Squad detectives are seeking the public’s assistance for information to assist investigations into a building fire in Welshpool on Tuesday, March 14 that caused about $9 million dollars damage.

About 10.25pm, police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services were called to the warehouse on Pilbara Street.

The fire caused extensive structural damage to the building.

Detectives would like to speak to a man they believe can assist with the investigation.

The man is described as aged between 20 and 35 years of age, tanned complexion, about 180cms tall and of slim build.

He was wearing black pants, a light coloured long-sleeved shirt, black boots and a black baseball cap with a white motif.

Anyone who can identify this man or who has any information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online.

Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
