‘I have received a number of emails and calls expressing concern that changes to local government boundaries would result in changes to local school boundaries,’ he said.
‘For the record, there is no relationship between local government boundaries and school catchment areas of the primary and secondary schools in my electorate.
‘Burrendah, Rostrata, Willetton, Riverton, Parkwood, Rossmoyne and Shelley primary schools as well as Lynwood, Rossmoyne and Willetton Senior High School will retain their current boundaries.
‘Whilst I can appreciate the uncertainties resulting from the local government reform process, the current boundaries that have been proposed for the City of Canning have yet to be finalised.
‘This local government amalgamation process is intended to commence in late 2015 and therefore there is still plenty of time for the local community to send me their feedback on this matter.’
