WA has a brand new millionaire after a division one-winning ticket was sold in the State again – continuing an impressive run of luck for locals.

Lotterywest spokeswoman Chloe Lawler said last month that WA had been averaging a division one winner per week since the start of 2017.

“Lotto luck seems to have taken up residence on the west coast,” she said at the time.

The number of division one winners has now risen to 28 after one lucky local player came up with the six winning numbers of 5, 19, 25, 30, 33 and 34.

The winner has taken home a very handy $1.37 million.

In May, WA won the entire division one prize pool in what was described as a “very rare occurrence”.

That same month, a syndicate of Perth workers – half of whom were made redundant before the draw – won the top prize.

A tradesman from Forrestfield won a week earlier after playing for 30 years.

Back in March, a struggling husband and wife broke down after being told by Lotterywest staff they had won the top prize and could now “afford to pay their overdue power bill”.
