Opinion: Accommodation along Nullarbor filthy

Charlie Gibson, FalconCanning Gazette

I HAVE recently spoken to some local people who have travelled the long Nullarbor road route to South Australia and return by motor vehicle.

Even though the trip was great, they alleged that some accommodation on the journey over left a lot to be desired.

Even though accommodation was expensive for very basic service, the worst complaint was that some places were filthy.

This image is not good for our travellers, but it also does nothing to promote tourists to travel inland.

We spend a fortune promoting Australia to overseas travellers, so it may be time to remind these places they play a very important role in our tourist trade.

Even isolation is no excuse for slack maintenance and cleanliness.
