I APPLAUD anyone with zeal in wanting to open a small business, but often wonder why such enterprises don’t seem to last very long.
When one sees another dress store, or sport shop, being opened next to an existing one, I feel that the new owner has perhaps not done the thorough research needed to make the new venture a viable proposition..
One hears comments such as: “I don’t think this store is going to last very long!” or “ Heavens! Another coffee shop! We have too many here already!”
I know that the government is urging people to start new businesses. While it is a commendable idea, it would be better to stop people from borrowing large sums of money and getting into serious debt from doing so.
