AT SIX years of age, Louisa Donovan is considered an athlete and has her own Instagram account.

The Ferndale resident was selected for former WA Institute of Sport (WAIS) Gymnastics Program at the age of four, and scored well at the recent judges invitational competition.

The competition was held in July at the State Gymnastics Centre in Leederville, where she gained one of the highest overall scores for International Level 3.

She secured three blue ribbons, two red ribbons for second place, and three green ribbons for third place earning her a silver medal overall; no one won gold in this level.

Louisa was originally training with Jednorog Gymnastics at Beckenham, where it became obvious she had a natural talent and amazing upper body strength.

She now has access to the state’s best coaches and facilities and trains three days a week for a total of nine hours.
