For the past four years, Mr Fitzgerald has been spending his spare time at the Willetton Baseball Club, lending a helping hand where needed.

Mr Fitzgerald has been nominated in the Ultimate Volunteer Reward competition, which is open for people to nominate outstanding volunteers across WA.

As an assistant to the senior baseball team, the under-17s coach, a senior softball trainer, and a baseball player himself, Mr Fitzgerald knows first-hand the amount of volunteer work required.

‘I find it an immensely rewarding experience to help out around our club at any level,’ he said.
