Community invited to Q&A forum with Cockburn ward candidates

Bronwyn DonovanCockburn Gazette

COCKBURN ward councillors and mayoral candidates running in the local government election will go head to head at a Q&A forum next week.

Residents and business owners will have an opportunity hear each candidate’s reasons for running and question them at the open panel discussion on Wednesday at Round Hall, Memorial Hall, from 7pm.

Seven candidates are contesting two vacancies on council and three candidates are running for mayor.

The South Beach Community Groups (SBCG) and Hamilton Hill Community Group (HHCG) organised the event so residents could meet potential representatives, make an informed choice at the election and become motivated to vote.

The Q&A will be moderated by Rashelle Predovnik, an award-winning journalist, freelance editor and writer.

Ms Predovnik will run for the City of Swan council in the upcoming local government elections.

In the lead up to the forum, the SBCG wants residents to send in questions to be discussed on the day to hello@hhcg.com.au.
