Man caught on alleged drink driving … twice in one night

POLICE have arrested the same man twice in one night for alleged drink driving.

About 12.50am on Sunday, police spoke to a man who driving a Hyundai Elantra on North Lake Road in Cockburn Central about a speeding offence.

The man was taken Cockburn Police Station where he allegedly gave a positive breath test.

He was served a disqualification notice and released to walk home to his nearby residence.

A short time later, police noticed the same vehicle being driven south along Midgegooroo Avenue.

Police stopped the vehicle and found the same man driving.

He was taken back to Cockburn Police Station, and allegedly again provided a positive breath test.

He was hit with another disqualification notice and his vehicle was impounded.

A 26-year-old man of Cockburn Central will be summonsed for driving under the influence, having no authority to drive and driving in excess of 0.08.

He will appear in court at a later date.
