OASIS Church Perth has spent two weeks giving back to Cockburn community.

The church took part in Serve Week, running several projects including a backyard makeover for an Atwell resident, hosting morning tea for primary school staff and hosting an afternoon tea for residents of Regent Gardens nursing home.

Oasis Church representative Rebecca Thomas said it was an absolute joy to give back to Cockburn community groups and residents with no agenda.

This was the first year Oasis Church has taken part in Serve Week.

“Before the event everyone came together to decided on the community projects they wanted to run,” Ms Thomas said.

“Our church has many families and a rather strong connection to Atwell College because the group started out there, so giving back to them seemed an obvious choice.”

Ms Thomas said she received positive feedback from each group the church served, with each expressing appreciation for the volunteers time and efforts.
