Opinion: Seniors hit again, this time by Mark McGowan

DURING the reign of the previous Barnett government, West Australian pensioners and seniors were deprived of half of their living assistance allowances. This was the only state in Australia where this occurred. All other state premiers ensured these entitlements remained intact.

Under a Liberal government one expects these sorts of things – take it from the “peasants” and give it to your mates.

Along comes Mark McGowan and decides that the “peasants” are still getting too much, so decides to give them another whack, but at all times ensuring that everyone sitting in the cosy chamber at Parliament House keeps their grubby little fingers on the obscene amounts that they pull from the public purse

Mr McGowan would be well advised to rethink his plan to deprive the Seniors Card to those that are currently entitled to it.

The cost could be much more than he thinks.
