Peel Thunder finish strong to break East Fremantle

PEEL Thunder has consolidated their position in the top five, bring East Fremantle to earth with a 36-point win this afternoon.

In a low-scoring encounter at East Fremantle Oval, the Thunder piled on five goals in the final term to win, 9.12 (66) to 3.12 (30).

Former Shark Rory O’Brien kicked three goals while Matt Taberner and Zac Dawson kicked two each.

Defender Ethan Hughes tallied a team-high 26 disposals in the win.

Jayden Schofield led the Sharks for disposals with 28. Cam Eardley had 27.

The Thunder led by seven points at the last change but Taberner and defender-turned forward Zac Dawson both goaled early to offer the visitors some breathing room.

A neat Rory O’Brien finish mid-way through the final term, one of his two goals in the last quarter, followed a major to Nicholas Merritt and the contest was over.
