Armadale Hospital gardens get new splash of colour

Jessica WarrinerComment News

THE Armadale Hospital gardens have a new splash of colour.

The gardens were revamped by a team of Bunnings employees and volunteers over two days earlier this month.

The first day of work at the hospital saw the development of a brand new garden for the mental health ward, and the second day of work saw the creation of a special memorial garden for parents and families who have lost their children and babies.

Armadale Mental Health service director Monica Taylor said the new sensory garden in the mental health ward created a therapeutic environment that would support consumers in their recovery.

“This garden will engage conversation and activities for consumers which will benefit their mental and physical well-being,” she said.

“We want to say thank you to all the wonderful volunteers and the hospital’s Auxiliary who have helped to make it a reality.”
