Harrisdale: Metronet feedback night with local MPs

Ben SmithComment News

WA Labor’s Metronet plan has been ramped up another gear, with the State Government holding a public forum in Harrisdale next week.

The event aims to address concerns or queries the public has about the two proposed Canning Vale train stations on Nicholson Road and Ranford Road.

Transport Minister Rita Saffioti, Member for Southern River Terry Healy and Member for Jandakot Yaz Mubarakai will host the information session at Harrisdale Pavillion at 6pm on August 2.

Mr Healy encouraged the public to attend the event and said their input would be vital to the project’s success.

“We look forward to having quite a few Metronet consultations, but this one is before things get too locked in, people involved in this one will be able to effect a lot more change,” he said.

“There’s going to be new buses, so we need to consult over where the new bus routes should go, we want to tell people what timeframes we’re looking at, ask how much parking they want at the stations.”
