Non-stop fun at Maddington Education Support Centre’s sports carnival day

MADDINGTON Education Support Centre students enjoyed a fantastic day of fun at their annual athletics carnival on Friday.

The students made the most of the spring sunshine and participated in a number of fun events which ensured everyone went home a winner.

Staff helped their students run through a special tabloid system, including games such as Splat the rat and Feed the monster, in addition to the traditional running and egg & spoon races.

The school works with students who have an assortment of different and complex special needs and staff went to great lengths to ensure the carnival was inclusive and enjoyable for all students.

Principal Kathy Britton said they hoped the carnival would continue to improve in the future and staff were already planning next year’s event.

She said the school planned to invite other Education Support Centres to join the carnival next year.
