Police looking for help after crime spree in Champion Lakes

THE silver Mercedes involved in a number of incidents in Champion Lakes has been located in the southern suburbs and it is believed that the offender is now driving a silver Mazda 3 sedan, registration number 1CUT927.

Police are appealing for anyone that has seen this vehicle to not approach it, but to contact police immediately on 131 444.

Armadale Detectives are seeking help from the public in relation to the crime spree in Champion Lakes yesterday.

At 11.35am , a man armed with a knife approached the driver of a Toyota Aurion who was stationary at the intersection of Tonkin Highway and Champion Drive.

The man opened the driver’s door and confronted the driver, cutting his right arm.

The driver accelerated away, leaving the offender at the intersection.

About 10 minutes later, a man entered a house on Barrington Avenue after climbing over a rear fence and entering through an unlocked door.

He searched through a number of rooms and took two handbags before being confronted by two female occupants in the house.

They challenged the man, resulting in one woman receiving a wound to her hand, before the man fled, climbed the fence and ran in to a laneway.

In the laneway the man approached a stationary vehicle, but after opening the front passenger door, the driver accelerated away.

About 11.50am, a man kicked at the front door of a house in Strathclyde Circuit.

A female occupant opened the door and a man with a knife forced his way inside, cutting the woman’s wrist and stealing her handbag and car keys.

The man left the area in a silver Mercedes ML350 SUV, registration 1DXF079.

A short time later the vehicle drove in to Seine Mews, ramming through a barrier in the cul-de-sac before driving away down Lake Road.

The man is described as being in his 20s, dark skinned, 175cm tall, with black hair and brown eyes.
