Thornlie man (22) charged after leading police on chase through suburb

POLICE have charged a 22 year-old Thornlie man after he evaded police early this morning.

Police attempted to stop a Holden Commodore sedan on Spencer Road in Thornlie about 12.50am.

The driver ignored police requests to stop and evaded them throughout Thornlie’s streets.

While travelling on Norwood Loop, the driver lost control of the car and crashed into a fence.

He attempted to flee the scene, but was arrested shortly after.

The man was charged with reckless driving, failing to stop, no authority to drive and other counts not related to his evasion.

He will appear in Armadale Magistrate’s Court.
