Opinion: Burqa only half the story

REGARDING the letters about the burqa (Comment News, September 26).

I believe in freedom of religion.

However, the matter of the burqa is only half there.

I understand that in Arab countries where the burqa is worn, an adult male is supposed to chaperone the woman and is responsible for her behaviour.

I seldom see that practised over here. So if a woman in a burqa, or somebody dressed up like that, does something illegal or dangerous, it is hard to link it to anybody.
