ARKS Rugby Union Club kept up its run of form going with a 18-7 win against Swan Suburbs at Farrall Oval on the weekend.

The first half was a struggle as Swan Suburbs matched ARKS, with much of the game played in ARKS’s half.

ARKS set pieces then started to get the upper hand with the lineout dominating, but Swans countered with hard play and good support to the ball carriers in the loose.

ARKS were awarded a penalty within kicking range, and Troy Laurent continued his good form with a successful kick.

The game turned and ARKS started to gain more control, with Roughan Kiel going over for a try before half time and ARKS denying Swan Suburbs any points.

In the second half ARKS retained control and was unlucky not to score several times, winding up with two more tries.

Swan Suburbs were held out until the last minute, when a couple of indiscretions from ARKS allowed it to score a try and deny ARKS a bonus point.

A and B grades were playing at opposite ends of the competition zone, with the Bs down in Bunbury.

The Bunbury game was difficult for ARKS, with early injuries causing problems.

They struggled through the match, losing 15-25 to Bunbury Barbarians.

Next week’s ARKS games are all at home, with the seniors taking on Curtin for must-win games, and the under-20s taking to the field against Perth-Bayswater.
