KIA’S neat little Rondo wagon has been repositioned with a five-seat variant to broaden its appeal.
The original seven-seat model will continue in concert with the new five-seater, providing options for private buyers and the fleet market.
“Rondo has never enjoyed the positive market attention it deserves,” said Kia Motors Australia chief Damien Meredith.
“With the addition of the five-seater, some fresh styling and a specification realignment we are confident of Rondo’s success.”
The earlier top-ranking Platinum grade has been deleted to maintain a twin model strategy with the five-seat S at $26,990 and the seven-seat Si at $31,490. Both models feature a 2.0-litre GDi engine driving the front wheels through a six-speed automatic.
The Rondo range is well specified with 16-inch alloy wheels on the Si (16-inch steel on the S), satellite navigation (Si only), auto cruise control with speed limiter, rear parking sensors and rear camera.
The seven-seat Si offers 492 litres in luggage capacity with the seats up and 1650 litres with seats down.
Luggage capacity in the five-seat S is a cavernous 536 litres, stretching to 1694 litres seats down.
