Dianella Secondary College students get acting coaching from actress Rachael Beck

POPULAR Australian actress Rachael Beck shared her theatre expertise at a workshop for Dianella Secondary College students this month.

Beck conducted a Perform Act, Dance WA (PADWA) after school workshop, which was based on ‘empowerment through performance’.

She has featured in Australian and global productions including Home and Away, Beauty and the Beast: The Musical with Hugh Jackman and Hey Dad..!.

She was a mentor on Australia’s It Takes 2 and is an adjudicator for the Sydney Eisteddfod and a Wakkikiri judge.

Students participated in drama and self-esteem games and script reading from various movies and plays.

During the two-hour workshop, students were coached in singing and performed skits before demonstrating their new skills.

Dianella Secondary College principal Wayne Austin said he was delighted with the event.

“It’s great that we can offer our students extra-curricular opportunities like these, especially considering many of our students come from diverse backgrounds,” he said.
