John Forrest students help beautify ‘sand pit’ with seedlings

Toyah ShakespeareEastern Reporter

JOHN Forrest Secondary College bush cadets helped green their school last week after trees and seedlings were donated by the City of Basywater.

The City donated 30 mature trees and 1000 seedlings to mark Schools Tree Day and National Tree day on July 29.

They were planted in an area behind the school that is currently a “sand pit”.

Mayor Barry McKenna said the donation meant the City supported the creation of an urban forest.
