Puppy recovered after being taken from Morley pet store

UPDATE 4.28pm: Police have confirmed the stolen Jack Russell puppy has been returned to the pet store.

They said they were working with the shop to determine the exact circumstances around the issue.

POLICE are looking for people who took a Jack Russell puppy from a Morley pet store on Tuesday December 6.

About 1.20pm a man and a woman entered the store in the Coventry Markets on Walter Road in Morley to enquire about purchasing a puppy.

It was the same pet store where animals were evacuated from on November 27, after a fire broke out in a nearby restaurant.

While the man was talking with a staff member, the woman left the store with the six-week-old puppy.

A vet has expressed concerns for the health of the puppy, as he had been ill recently and is currently on a special diet.

Police would like to speak with the people in the above photos who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.
