Opinion: Police deserve high praise

Margaret Corlett, MorleyEastern Reporter

WE recently had an incident when we returned from a short walk.

We found there had been an attempt to break into our home, fortunately unsuccessful, but unsettling nonetheless.

I contacted the police and was given the most kind and helpful response.

Forensic police came to us from Mirrabooka in about an hour after I had initially spoken to them.

The two officers were extremely sympathetic, despite there being nothing they could do.

I also contacted the Bayswater security office and received helpful advice.

They said they would do extra patrols around our area.

I have had a glazier attend to replace the window. We are aged pensioners and my husband is unwell, but the kindness and quick response had been gratifying and we are grateful for the care shown to us.

Our police have a pretty awful job a lot of the time. Our situation was not dire, but we were not made to feel that we were wasting police time.

So thank you to them and Bayswater security.

Please, anybody who experiences even the smallest of incidents, contact the police and the local security so these things can be logged and hopefully somebody will get caught.

MARGARET CORLETT,

Morley.
