Elliot RaiterEastern Reporter

BAYSWATER-Morley sits 11th on the Premier Cricket after a win and a loss in the double-round fixture played over the weekend.

The Bears upset finals hopefuls Willetton by 78 runs on Saturday at Hillcrest Oval before a 47-run loss to fellow top-six contenders Scarborough on Sunday at Abbett Park.

Anthony Del Borrello (90) was the key for Scarborough’s 188, which proved too much for the Bears, who regularly lost wickets.

Ed Barnard starred with three wickets, with only Robbie Guy (41) able to get away for Bayswater-Morley, hitting the only two sixes of the day’s play as they were bowled out for 141.

On Saturday, Perth Scorchers injury replacement player Cameron Valente produced a key spell with the ball (2-10 from 10 overs) to lead the Bears past the Dragons, who were skittled for 123 chasing 7-201.

The Bears had been 5-53 with the bat, before Guy’s crucial 98 before being caught by Kallen Bond off Nic Geisler short of his hundred.
