MORE than 300 people attended Football West’s annual Africa Down Under Cup at Langley Park last Thursday.

Teams representing Perth’s African communities were sponsored by companies attending the Africa Down Under conference, which raises awareness of Australia’s interests in African mining and energy.

Conference delegates from around the world joined members of the public in celebrating African cultures through music, food and football, with the team representing Somalia winning the Cup after defeating the team representing Nigeria on penalties.
