Premier Cricket: Finals hopes on line for Bayswater-Morley against Melville

Ben SomerfordEastern Reporter

BAYSWATER-Morley’s Premier Cricket finals hopes will go on the line on Saturday when they host fellow top-six contenders Melville at Hillcrest Lower Oval from 11am.

The Bears claimed a win and a loss in last weekend’s double one-day fixtures, which marked the return of Premier Cricket after the two-week Christmas break.

The result left Bayswater-Morley in 11th spot on the ladder after 10 rounds, 14 points outside the top six.

This weekend’s opponents Melville are eighth, six points ahead of Bayswater-Morley, meaning the clash is a must-win for both clubs, with six points up for grabs.

Bayswater-Morley will have to make do without spinner Liam O’Connor and medium fast bowler Nathan Rimmington once again.

New Perth Scorchers recruit Cameron Valente should be available again after a superb debut while Melville are without Ryan Duffield due to injury in a boost for the Bears’ hopes.
