Alex honoured as positive role model

The Positive Image Award recognises and rewards high school students from each of WA’s eight education regions who are role models for other students and have made a real difference in their school and community.

Alex, a Year 12 student, is a State Emergency Service volunteer.

‘It came as a surprise to me and I am very honoured to be given this award,’ he said.

‘I really enjoy the appreciation that I see on others’ faces when I help them. In general, I find it rewarding to be able to help others when they need it.’

Principal Donna McDonald described Alex as a humble, caring young man who always looked for an opportunity to assist others.

An overall winner will be announced in October.
