Cadets learn vital skills

Staff ReporterFremantle Gazette

The SES was asked to train the cadets, who are students aged 13 to 17 at Hamilton Senior High School, in rescue techniques involving ladders, generators and lighting.

Each cadet was given time to climb a ladder, start a generator used on call-outs and shown how to put up rescue lighting.

‘Hopefully, each cadet walked away with a better understanding of the basic equipment that we use operationally on a call-out and an understanding of the safety aspects that need to be considered when using any equipment,’ training manager Karen Brozek said.
