Fingers is entangled

Staff ReporterFremantle Gazette

FISHERMAN are being urged to take caution when fishing off Cockburn Sound after a dolphin researchers have been following since 1993 became entangled in fishing line.

Fingers is a regular at the Sound but the Department of Environment and Conservation need help locating the dolphin so they can remove the tangled line to prevent it cutting into the dolphin and causing infection.

‘Fishing line has become wrapped around Fingers’ tail flukes and there’s some dangling behind with algae on it,’ Murdoch researcher Hugh Finn said. If you spot Fingers, contact the helpline on 9474 9055.
