FREMANTLE already has popular festivals celebrating chilli, seafood, heritage and street arts, but nobody has thought to pay homage to one of the best breakfast foods, until now.

The Esplanade Hotel Fremantle will serve up a delicious treat when they host the inaugural Fremantle Bacon Festival, a two-day celebration full of fun and interesting activities including a bacon dish cook off, food stalls, live music and children’s zone.

Esplanade Hotel food and beverage director Steven James said those brave enough could also try bacon ice cream or a bacon cocktail.

“There was silence then everyone started smiling and nodding their heads.

“If you love bacon and a good time you’ll be at this event.”

The Fremantle Bacon Festival is on April 22 and 23 at the Esplanade Hotel.
