Local artists in line for top gong

North Fremantle’s Richard Lewer and Angela Stewart and East Fremantle’s Camilla Loveridge were all named finalists in the portraiture category for their work.

Ms Loveridge said art had always been a significant part of her life and it was good to be recognised in this way.

‘There is fine talent among numerous artists who live right here in Fremantle, and who work away in their studios quietly and with little fanfare so it is important that these artists are brought to the foreground, to celebrate with their communities and to receive broader, national exposure.’
