New children’s book fundraiser just the medicine

Jess NicoFremantle Gazette

AUTHOR and teacher Tim Bristow is not bragging when he says “I’m the best”.

He is simply mentioning the title of his new children’s book, the much anticipated sequel to Billy the Brilliant and what he hopes will be a fundraising boon for the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Mr Bristow will launch I’m the Best during a fundraiser at The Left Bank next week, bringing together auctions and raffles with a range of special guests including former Fremantle Docker Luke McPharlin and a number of current West Coast and East Fremantle football players.

He said he was excited to know that a book launch could make a difference in the community.

“We’re only a small, start-up children’s book company but we know the importance of giving and want to encourage a really fun night which can be enjoyed by all members of the community, young and old,” he said.

“We wanted the sequel to be equally magical and fun for children, and we were keen to include themes and messages that kids, as well as adults, could interpret in their own way.”

Illustrated by his partner Natalie Martin, Mr Bristow said the book also included OpenDyslexic font to help readers.

I’m the Best will be launched at The Left Bank on March 29 and will be available from bookshops that same day.
