A WEST Perth man has died after falling from the balcony of a Fremantle pub overnight.

Police are investigating the death of the man, which happened at 8.30pm last night.

The man was reportedly sitting on the back of a sofa chair on the balcony of the hotel’s second floor when he lent back.

Police believe he fell through a plastic cafe blind to the ground below.

St John Ambulance paramedics attended and he was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital, but he died later.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.

It is understood the pub is the Sail and Anchor Hotel, however police would not confirm this was the case.
