South Fremantle: Warehouse Fitness Centre owners appeal for return of stolen items after break-in

Jessica NicoFremantle Gazette

THE owners of the Warehouse Fitness Centre in South Fremantle are asking the public’s help to identify the people who robbed them just weeks after celebrating their reopening.

Between 3.30am and 4.40am on Tuesday August 8, two men were captured on the centre’s surveillance system stealing a large antique safe as well as a number of building materials including a drill, blower, welder and air compressor.

They left the premises in a light-coloured ute towing an enclosed trailer.

Owner Sam Vinci said the safe in particular had sentimental value.

“The safe has been a part of the Hampton Rd building as long as I can remember, it’s a bit old school, as is the Warehouse gym,” she said.

“Possibly someone believed something of a lot of value was in it, but it contained around $1300 to $1500 in member footy tipping money and a whole heap of keys.”

Mrs Vinci asked if anyone recognises the vehicle or people, or if they know of the location of the items, particularly the safe, to call Fremantle Police 9430 1222 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
