“It’s a great treat to be able to stand on the ground next to former or up-and-coming AFL players at the breaks. You can go to the bar, grab a drink and catch up with old friends.”

Mr Fletcher said he preferred the WAFL’s laid-back game-day experience to the hustle and bustle of a trip to watch an AFL match.

His loyalty to the club – where he is also a sponsor – is so strong that he said he would prefer a Bulldogs premiership over a breakthrough grand final win for the Fremantle Dockers, where he was a foundation member.

Much of that, he said, comes from the nostalgia of childhood afternoons spent with family at Bulldogs games.
