City of Vincent audit finds single ‘minor’ count of non-compliance

Julian WrightEastern Reporter

A CITY of Vincent audit found one “minor” count of non-compliance, which was addressed at a special meeting on March 28.

The 2016 Local Government Statutory Compliance Audit Return (CAR) covers areas considered high risk in accordance with the Local Government Act and includes categories commercial enterprises delegation of power/duty, disclosure of interest, disposal of property, elections and finance.

It revealed an oversight in tender advertising.

The City’s advertising and tender documentation did not comply with Act regulations when two tenders were advertised for 14 days including the day that the notice was published rather than 14 days after the notice is first published.
