City of Vincent to review resident demand for sports stadium at Highgate Primary School

Julian WrightEastern Reporter

CITY of Vincent is reviewing a demand from residents for it to urgently liaise with the State and Federal governments for funding for a sports stadium to ease overflow demands at Highgate Primary School.

A petition signed by 146 people was presented to the City urging it to collaborate with the other government bodies to provide the multi-purpose outdoor sports, basketball, netball and futsal facility at the southern side of Birdwood Square.

Signatories agreed the facility would provide a venue for local children and adult sporting programs but also provide “much needed facilities for overflow demand form Highgate Primary School”.

City chief executive Len Kosova would not say if the facility was needed, if the City would contribute financially or if there was an overflow problem at the school.
