WATER Corporation workers are rushing to fix a significant water leak on Stirling Street in Perth this afternoon.

The area had been undergoing work to replace Perth’s water pipes throughout the CBD, some of which are up to 100 years old.

A Water Corporation spokeswoman said the incident this afternoon had been reported as a leak from one of the water meters.

The leak began at about 4.50pm this afternoon, with water spraying about ten metres into the air and onto the street.

The Water Corporation’s website says the works are essential to prevent future bursts and leaks.
