Opinion: Caution thrown to the wind

So the government are reviewing the $11.7 million needed to complete the upgrades needed at Willetton Senior High School, which sits in the Liberal seat of Riverton (‘Upgrade Up In The Air’, May 9), but they are going full steam ahead with a plan to spend $45 million on a high-rise school in the city (Education Central) that no one wants.

(Sue) Ellery said the McGowan government had to take a careful and cautious approach to financial management; that’s an unusual interpretation of “careful and cautious”.
