Soccer: Chilean club Audax Italiano cancels match with Perth Glory

CHILEAN Campeonata club Audax Italiano has cancelled its tour of Australia, which was set to take in a friendly clash with Perth Glory on July 12.

“In the last 24 hours, we have been informed by the management of… Audax Italiano Football Club that due to unforeseen circumstances, they are cancelling their tour of Australia where they were due to play Newcastle Jets and Perth Glory in July, 2017,” Perth Glory chief executive Peter Filopoulos said in a statement.

“Consequentially, the game that was planned for Wednesday 12 July, 2017 between Perth Glory Football Club and Audax Italiano Football Club at (Perth Oval), will now no longer proceed.

“We are most disappointed that this friendly match with Audax Italiano has been cancelled, however, it was outside of our control and we reluctantly accept the difficult decision made by the management of Audax Italiano.”

All Perth Glory members and fans that pre-purchased tickets to the July 12 game will be contacted directly by Ticketmaster to arrange refunds.
