Webster originally signed a two-year deal with the Wildcats in March, but had expressed his desire pursue his career overseas.

“With Corey released from his contract, we now have three roster spots remaining, which can all be filled by import players if required.”

The three-time NZ Breakers championship player and NZ international parted ways with his former club at the end of the 2016-17 NBL season, with the Wildcats leaping at the opportunity to make him an addition to its back court.

Webster was recently invited to join NBA side Dallas Mavericks for a trial before signing him for its Summer League squad.
