NPL WA: Perth SC faces crucial Bayswater City test

Giovanni TorreEastern Reporter

PERTH Soccer Club faces a crucial match on Sunday against rival Bayswater City at Dorrien Gardens.

The Azzuri suffered a 3-2 loss against National Premier Leagues WA powerhouse Floreat last weekend after a controversial late penalty broke the deadlock.

The result was frustrating for Perth, who beat Stirling 2-0 the week previous to win the Dylan Tombides Trophy and were looking to build momentum for its run at the premiership.

Perth is fourth on the ladder with nine wins from 16 games, just one win behind table-topping Floreat.

Second-placed Sorrento (nine wins) and third-placed Inglewood (eight wins) have had more draws than Perth, but a win this weekend would give the Azzuri a strong shot at winning the premiership.

Perth faces fifth-placed Bayswater City at 3pm.
