HILLS residents copped the worst of today’s deluge with reports of localised flooding across Mundaring and Kalamunda after an intense cold front swept across the South-West this morning.

Bureau of Meteorology spokesman Glenn Cook said the worst of the wet weather was over for now.

“Perth metro at Mt Lawley had exactly 20mm from 9am until 12.40pm,” he said.

“The airport had slightly more, 21.8mm, and then up at Bickley in the Hills it was 25.8mm.

“There may be an odd shower or two around the rest of the afternoon, but certainly nothing like we saw this morning.”

Mundaring SES local manager Hendrik Raak said it received one call for assistance for minor damage, however he said more calls could be received when people return home from work.

“It absolutely bucketed down in the Hills,” he said.

“The amount of rainfall was incredible and there were rivers running down the road.”

Duty officer Lin Booth said more bad weather was predicted for tomorrow evening.

“At this stage we have been pretty lucky and part of it is because people have taken the time to make sure they have cleaned out their gutters,” he said.

“We will be waiting and seeing to see how much damage with more heavy falls expected tomorrow.”
