YORK police have seized three unlicensed, off-road motorcycles being ridden on the roads.
Sergeant Luke Collins said since the inception of new legislation there had been “some confusion and much debate on social media regarding the offences”.
“If you ride an unlicensed off-road motorcycle on a road (which is between the property lines on each side of the road, not just the carriageway), you will be stopped and your motorcycle seized by police,” he said.
“The owner has 14 days in which to request the return of the motorcycle and a decision is made by an Inspector at State Traffic as to whether circumstances will allow it to be released.”
