AQWA has opened a new aquarium and amphitheatre.

The raised Dive Aquarium has been built on the northwestern side of the Hillarys Boat Harbour attraction.

General manager John Lowe said the new facilities in Adventure Bay included a big window to view the marine life, kiosk, alfresco area, children’s playground and dive centre.

“There is nothing like this anywhere in Perth,” he said.

“This redeveloped area at AQWA is the perfect coastal setting for a wide range of activities.

“Our new dive program will offer a snorkel or dive with full equipment for people who are complete novices.

“As with our dive with sharks program, people will be fully briefed, instructed and supervised by our qualified divemasters.”

Mr Lowe said AQWA had already received inquiries about holding weddings at the amphitheatre, as well as special events and corporate sundowners.
