Joondalup Wanneroo Relay for Life still looking for volunteers

Bill MarwickJoondalup Times

THE Joondalup Wanneroo Relay for Life is looking for more volunteers and teams to make its 10th anniversary bigger and better than ever.

The WA Cancer Council major fundraiser, to be held over the October 21-22 weekend at Arena Joondalup, involves teams of five to 15 members.

Most teams stay overnight in tents, with at least one member walking or running on the track over the 24 hours, signifying cancer never sleeps.

Funds raised in the lead-up and during the event will go to cancer research and services for those with the disease.

Sisters Hawra and Zamra Alumari are two new volunteers after visiting the council website to see how to get involved.

More volunteers are needed to set up the grounds on Friday, October 20.
