Staff WriterJoondalup Times

MERMAIDS joined children and their parents to witness the official opening of a new addition to AQWA at Hillarys Boat Harbour last week.

Joondalup Mayor Troy Pickard stood beside AQWA general manager John Lowe to cut the ribbon to open the Adventure Bay Aquarium and Dive Hub, which will be a backdrop for weddings and functions.

The program of celebrations included a photo booth, bubble blowing, tattoo station, mermaid performance, face paining and a pirate entertainer.
