It did make for some close racing and a spinnaker finish when the wind shifted to the northwest.

Although Mulberry (Mark Pitt) was fastest in division one, Salamander (Bruce Bradford), Sandrine (Ian Conboy), and Perle (John Bird) finished within two minutes of each other.

Sandrine was first on handicap, Perle second by 5 seconds and Mulberry third.

Deckchairs Overboard (Neil Harrison) was set for a podium finish, leading all the way, but they retired after rounding a mark the wrong way.

In division two, Helga with Mark Taylor at the helm was first, Blue Chip (Keith and Deborah Fisk) second, and third and also fastest was the rising stars of the HYC youth squad, just seven seconds off second place.

The division three yachts were also competing for the Cruiser Cup and although Brett Bailey was again fastest on Sensei, he was second on handicap to Sana II sailed by Brian Buzzard, setting up virtual match races in the last two Cruiser Cup races of the season.
