NRL WA: Joondalup Giants turn blue for MND awareness

THE Joondalup Giants are turning blue to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

The rugby league club’s division one team is hosting the charity game against North Beach at Admiral Reserve in Heathridge on July 29.

Both teams will wear blue socks to raise awareness for the MND Association of WA and there will be a raffle and fundraising tins at the ground.

Giants member Tony Spence said it was hosting the game in support of former juniors coach Trevor Newby, who was diagnosed three years ago.

Newby will be at the game to toss the coin, with kick off at 3pm.
